What We Think About It

The Spice Islands, historically known as the Banda Islands in the Maluku archipelago carry a legacy that once reshaped global trade. Today, this remote destination offers an incredible convergence of colonial history and marine biodiversity. Below the surface, the waters of the Banda Sea are defined by dramatic vertical walls, deep oceanic trenches, and healthy hard coral gardens fueled by nutrient-rich upwellings, making it a premier route for seasonal liveaboard diving. On land, the remnants of the 17th-century nutmeg trade, from Fort Belgica to old colonial plantations, stand beneath the active volcanic cone of Gunung Api Banda.

Reaching and exploring these isolated waters requires precise maritime logistics and expert planning. At Indonesia Flores Tour, our operational expertise extends beyond East Nusa Tenggara into the deeper waters of the Banda Sea. Our experienced crew and local dive guides closely track seasonal sea conditions and migration patterns, ensuring you experience the region’s legendary hammerhead shark schooling sites and pristine reefs safely and responsibly.

We blend meticulous local coordination with an authentic understanding of Banda’s cultural heritage, transforming a complex expedition into a seamless, deeply rewarding journey.
